Anti-Aging And Aromatherapy

I bet you’ve heard of how beneficial aromatherapy usage is when it comes to stress. Stress is one of the biggest aging ‘agent’ and factor in our lives. The more stress we feel, the worse we feel, and our bodies reacts accordingly. Aromatherapy can combat stress in a harmless and effective way without using intrusive or medication. I have always loved the way things smell and the first attraction to a man is always the way he smells.

Which is why I pay special attention to the perfume and fragrances that I buy – and sometimes people like me are very picky people. VERY much so.

For the longest time, aromatherapy is considered a form of treatment or prevention of diseases that we had no way of healing back in those days. The effects of the smell of something on our brain have been explained through science in that it affects the limbic system through the olfactory system.

In the simple sense of the word, aromatherapy deals directly with the brain causing it to react in a certain way that helps the body combat whatever disease it is that is attacking our bodies.

Aromatherapy is also a great form of alternative medicine with healing elements which some claim to be close to magical. The magical compounds contained with each different essential oil and plant or flower tends to create a different reaction in the brain. Would you consider aromatherapy a kind of alternative medicine? I seem to think so!

During ancient times, this is precisely what they think of it as. During those times, they are widely use to cure illnesses and some essential oils are used as a form of antiseptic or to cure tummy ailments. It’s undeniable that how something or someone smells can change the way you look at things.

That is why one should always wear a perfume that helps attract people to us. Some perfumes makes others think of you as a very wise business woman, make people think you’re a sweet and gentle person and some simply makes you feel and look younger.

It’s true, the strength of aromatherapy remain undisputed and hard-to-challenge till this very day.

Saving Money On Looking Young And Beautiful

Women thirty and above are found to be spending somewhere between $100 and $200 a month on beauty and skincare products. Let’s not even touch on those who go for cosmetic surgery and other medical procedures. That’s a lot of money if you calculate the number of women in the country and over the course of a year. We’re going into hard times and every time we indulge in something that we seriously believe will help us look younger, like an anti-aging product, we need to know how to maximize it and use it wisely. Otherwise, there are many other alternatives out there.

One example would be to throw the empty bottle of eye makeup remover in the trash and use the conventional baby oil instead. Baby oil is gentler (less chemicals) therefore, not only are they better for your skin, they’re healthier for your wallet as well.

As we age, our skin elasticity weakens and we start needing more moisture than usual. However, most cosmetics today tend to dry up our skin when we wear them for an extended period of time. If that is the case for you, try picking up a tinted moisturizer and add a little bit of foundation or powder on top for the clean-cut, fresh and very casual look. We usually stay as far away from liquid foundation as possible because it tends to make us look a little older than we actually are.

Eye shadow gives our eyes the sparkle it needs. Especially for those of us who are trying to hide crows feet or unsightly eye bags. Use your blush as a top-up for your eyes! It works. Muted, warm, darker colored blush can be applied over the eyelids to give them the WHAM effect.

There are way too many different (and expensive) types of shampoos out there on the market. If you asked me, I would rather skim back on the shampoo purchase and instead, purchase a really good hair conditioner or hair mask to give it the glow and shine everyday.

Don’t throw away the nail polish remover when it goes a little dry – they can still be used after you shake them in with some nail polish remover. OR mix it with another nail polish color. We used to do this as kids, trying to come up with our very own perfect nail polish color and it saves us a lot of money too.

With all the above tips and tricks, the most classic one would be the one on how to save on blusher. Pinch your cheeks every now and then. I know it’s old school but believe me, it works for a while although you’d need to run to the bathroom or hide behind a very long curtain to do that unless you want people asking you if you think you’re too cute for your own good and that is why you’re pinching your own cheeks so often.

Anyway, here’s to saving money on looking good and young.

Getting Organized Essential To Happy Life

It must have had something to do with the way my home looked the whole two weeks that I felt that I was living in a chaos-filled world. Something popped and I went on a cleaning spree that left my home clean as a whistle. The feeling of living in an almost-brand-new-looking home was so overwhelming that I wondered if I should invite some friends over for a party – just to celebrate the cleanliness.

Living in a clean house or the action of mopping and cleaning away the grime actually invigorates the soul, according to some psychology paper about getting yourself organized...at least once every two weeks. Twice a month isn’t too much to ask for, really. It seems as though organized people, whether in the office or in the home, enjoy far greater success than people who are messed-up.

In fact, we might go as far as to argue that those who live in a messy house tend to have a messy financial situation because there’s just so much waste everywhere, which includes a messy set of accounts. Now, do YOU have a system that helps you organize all of that so that you, not only have a well-organized life but a well-organized bank account as well? If you don’t, perhaps it’s time.

When you’re not swamped with a long list of outdated to-do list, you’re less likely to suffer from high blood pressure. Really, it’s true. We all know that high blood pressure and stress can really age a person! And we don’t want that. When you’re organized, you’ll also know what your priorities are and have time to tend to them. It could be something simple like reading a book, a walk in the park or finish a bookscraping project that you’ve been dying to complete.

Being organized also leaves you with more time to be with your friends and family members. Be strict about your time and responsibilities. When you waver from your basic principle or your system, you’ll soon find yourself loping back into being a stressed out disorganized person…not to mention no time for yourself, your friends and family.

Spontaneity is good but in a controlled manner. I know it sounds silly to say that but it’s true. There’s a time to be controlled and there’s a time to be Billy Crystal silly and funny. This rings particularly true for purchases. Organize your trips to the grocery store and you’ll find yourself spending less than you would have if you had gone there on impulse.

When you’ve worked your way to doing up a list to complete on a daily basis, trust me, you’ll feel better about the way you work, live, play and enjoy yourself.

And what does THAT translate into? A happier person and a happier person is always the kind of person that resonate youthfulness, boundless energy and enthusiasm. Dab a little anti-aging fragrance on your way out and you’ll feel the bounce in the way you walk every single step of the way.

How Much Do You Like Yourself?

A sense of self and how much you actually appreciate yourself for what you are has a lot to do with how young you look. The more you like yourself, every flaw, every good point that you love, the younger you are on the inside. The younger you are on the inside, the younger you are on the outside.

Take it from the young ones
Adults should learn a thing or two from the kids because kids have this ability to live life as if there’s no yesterday and there’s no tomorrow. They give today everything they’ve got and that makes them kids….young people who live life with wild abandon.

Although grown-ups cannot live life as carefree as them, there are a few tips that we can learn from them. Learn how to let everything go once in a while. Do what you have to do and then let go. Plan only as far as you are willing to plan because there’s no way you can guarantee anything for the future because things change all the time.

As soon as you start thinking and behaving a little bit more like the kid that you’re meant to be, you’ll love yourself more.

Eliminate stress lines by loving them
Stress lines, the wrinkles are hard evidence that you’ve lived your life. The laugh lines are indications of how much you’ve laughed through the ups and downs in life. Instead of looking at them with disdain and trying to do too much to hide them, celebrate them and your skin will celebrate it with you. The frown lines will even out with every acceptance, your crow’s feet will stop deepening and you’ll behave like you’re worth your own time.

Surround yourself with positive people who don’t judge you
Keep parasites away…this advice is something I keep very close to my heart. Surround yourself with energetic people who radiate positive energy so that their optimism can rub off on you. Negative people tend to make you feel depressed and emotionally down-trodden. Don’t stop being friends with them but limit your contact with them especially when you’re feeling down.

Live a better life today if you want to live a full life and start looking younger. It’s possible – anything’s possible.

Need help? Dab on some anti-aging fragrance before heading out then. :-)

The Right Hair For The Right Face

Wearing the right type of hair can say a lot about how old we are. Generally speaking, the older you are, the shorter the hair should be. Any woman who have researched on how hairstyles can affect how old one looks can tell you that that is the rule of thumb. Long-haired older women tend to look a little older and hair flatter than it should be.

While the above is a general rule, there are often exceptions. Take a look at the list below to find a hairstyle that suits your age and the shape of your face.

Oval – everyone knows that ovals have it easiest and everyone wants one. Men included, sometimes because oval-shaped face men tend to look a little younger than they really are. So, if you have an oval face, lucky you. The oval face is perfect for just about any kind of hairstyle be it in length and in style. The only problem is the high forehead that comes with the oval face. Bangs (or fringe) can be used to shorten the face and give it a little angle.

Round – Of all the other face shapes, round-faced people have an easier time trying to emulate the oval face. They’re a little shorter and wider so what they have to do is to pull the fringe away from the face or have it sweep to the side elegantly. Leave the sides covering the side of the face to decrease its width. Then your face will naturally look longer and slimmer. People with round faces should avoid hairstyles that cuts off at the chin level or is short-cropped because it brings out the roundedness…which can look a little odd if you’re older than forty.

Square – you need longer hair to override the effects of strong jaws, so, let it fall past your shoulder and ask the hairdresser to cut your hair in soft layers to frame your face. Do not cut your hair chin-length with blunt cuts. When set along the jaw line, it only serves to make your face look even squarer.

Heart – The conventional heart-shaped face is a little wider at the top and narrows its way down towards a very pointy chin. Long and wavy hair is often done to counter the effects of strong cheekbones together with long layers on top. Avoid adding too much to the top of the head because it gives you the conehead look. What you need is a very soft and gentle waves to counter the angles.

With the right hair, the right clothes, the right accessories and the right perfume, you’ll have a look that is guaranteed to be a winner – something that gives you the extra bounce in your step when you walk.

Harmful To Your Skin

Your skin is just another part of your body, an organ that deserves your time and effort. How sure are you that the bottles of creams and lotions that you have in your bath or bed room are not doing your skin more harm than good? Walk in any mall and you’ll find yourself inundated with countless brand names that jump out to you from the shelves, calling out your name. Most of them claiming to be miraculous in one way or another. From erasing fine lines to giving you pouter lips, how much you can trust the claims goes beyond just looking at the cover and reading what they have printed.

I am not saying that ALL products are bad for your skin or many of the companies are throwing these claims at you just to make a profit. The fact is that consumers need to be more educated about what the authorities approves of and what it doesn’t so that we do not unnecessarily expose ourselves to harmful ingredients found in some of these products.

When you’re done reading this article, the next time you head out to buy a skincare product, consider yourself more educated because I’ll share a list of toxic products that can sometimes be found in skincare products. One popularly known ingredient would be DLS (Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate). And then there are Benzoyl Peroxide, Diethanolamine, DMHM Hydantoin, Imidazolidinyk Urea, Petrolatum (in high concentration), Phthalates, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS), Parabens, Plyethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, just to name a few.

Although it’s not possible to completely avoid these ingredients, it’s best for you to start buying smarter. Even when the companies claim that their product is natural, they’re often not, so how do you shop smarter when the odds are against you? Not all of us can remember the list of names that I’ve just typed out. It’s near impossible unless we all have memories of a genius. The secret is in testing and buying from a reputable brand name. The bigger they are, the smaller the risk because large companies do not want to invite trouble when the authorities come knocking on their doors.

Your skin is a living and breathing organ of your body and reacts instantly to the skincare products that you use on it. Love it by protecting it as much as possible from unnaturally harmful ingredients found in skincare products today.

Protect Your Skin Diligently

We all know how damaging the sun can be to our skin; not only will we risk our health when we are overly-exposed to the sun, it ages us tremendously too. Therefore, it’s incredibly important for us to wear sunscreen to protect our skin before we head out. This is particularly true for people who are always on the go or is required to be outdoors on a daily basis.

Despite how promising some sun screen brands sound, most of them are unsuitable for daily use….especially when you need to wear them under your makeup. Some brands are too oily and greasy to wear even though you slather on a thin layer. This is not an uncommon problem even for people who have extremely dry skin.

The other plausible solution is for you to wear a moisturizer that comes with SPF 15 (and above) protection. Within the mixture, sun screen comes with zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and other form of chemicals that blocks off the sun's rays. It’s enough to keep the harmful effects of the sun from causing damage to your face but it’s not enough to protect your skin for extended exposure to the sun. You need something stronger when you’re at the beach, playing tennis or standing at an exhibition booth in the sun all day long.

A higher SPF is not necessarily better either. It’s common belief that the higher the SPF, the bigger the protection. While it gives you added relief in knowing that the lotion is helping protect your skin as much as you possibly can find, the effects of a high SPF sun screen wears off too. A lot of that has to do with the components found and used in the sun screen.

There’s a trick to maintaining the protection and that is to wear a reasonably good SPF sun screen under your make-up and re-apply again if you have to continue with work that requires you to be under the sun. I know it’s a bit of a hassle because that would probably mean re-applying your makeup too but if you want maximum protection for your skin, then this is the way to do it.

Protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s beating. It’s one of the sure-fire ways to maintain a youthful and glowing complexion.

Makeup Magic

A little make-up goes a long way, shall we say? Everyone wants to head out the door looking like a big winner but in reality, we can’t afford to have a celebrity award-winning makeup artist dotting out our pimples every morning, so, what’s a girl to do but to learn a few tricks to looking young and beautiful with MAKEUP.

Don’t believe everything that you see in photos and in the films – down-to-earth celebrities have come right out and said that they admit to being human and not looking perfect when they wake up every morning. However, if image is important to you, makeup is the only way to go. I am not saying you should slather on as much makeup as you can. What I’m saying is that a little makeup goes a long way.

Some people learn from professionals for FREE. Yes, you heard right and is probably wondering if the screws are OK in my head. They’re alright. The way to learn what kind of makeup makes you look young and beautiful is to hit the makeup counters that they have in malls and salons. Make an appointment with them and book yourself in. Pay special attention to the colors that they use, the way they apply the makeup too. If you’re curious, just ask them why they do the things that they do to your face and you’ll see that some techniques are used to properly remove lines or highlight your best features while downplaying your….less attractive bits.

You may have to pay for the makeup treatment and if it’s free, tip them well. It’s money in pocket, you know.

Being comfortable with yourself, the way you look and the makeup (or no makeup) that you have on is important as well. Some celebrities come outright and say that they don’t naturally look as good when they’re at home – and that’s reality for you. So, feel good in your own skin and soon, true beauty from the inside will shine through on the outside. As long as you have confidence, you can conquer the world, remember?

Celebrities swear to two things….one, staying in the shade; and two, sunscreen. If they were to step out into the sun without their sunscreen, they will melt. The sun’s evil rays is the most dangerous aging natural element ever so if you don’t want to look old, get generous with the sunscreen or get an umbrella-sized hat that covers most parts of your face, at least.

So, go experiment with some colors, shades and techniques now by doing a little bit of research online.

Want to smell like you're eight years younger than you actually are? Head over to ageless fantasy to realize your dreams of youthfulness.
