Protect Your Skin Diligently

We all know how damaging the sun can be to our skin; not only will we risk our health when we are overly-exposed to the sun, it ages us tremendously too. Therefore, it’s incredibly important for us to wear sunscreen to protect our skin before we head out. This is particularly true for people who are always on the go or is required to be outdoors on a daily basis.

Despite how promising some sun screen brands sound, most of them are unsuitable for daily use….especially when you need to wear them under your makeup. Some brands are too oily and greasy to wear even though you slather on a thin layer. This is not an uncommon problem even for people who have extremely dry skin.

The other plausible solution is for you to wear a moisturizer that comes with SPF 15 (and above) protection. Within the mixture, sun screen comes with zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and other form of chemicals that blocks off the sun's rays. It’s enough to keep the harmful effects of the sun from causing damage to your face but it’s not enough to protect your skin for extended exposure to the sun. You need something stronger when you’re at the beach, playing tennis or standing at an exhibition booth in the sun all day long.

A higher SPF is not necessarily better either. It’s common belief that the higher the SPF, the bigger the protection. While it gives you added relief in knowing that the lotion is helping protect your skin as much as you possibly can find, the effects of a high SPF sun screen wears off too. A lot of that has to do with the components found and used in the sun screen.

There’s a trick to maintaining the protection and that is to wear a reasonably good SPF sun screen under your make-up and re-apply again if you have to continue with work that requires you to be under the sun. I know it’s a bit of a hassle because that would probably mean re-applying your makeup too but if you want maximum protection for your skin, then this is the way to do it.

Protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s beating. It’s one of the sure-fire ways to maintain a youthful and glowing complexion.
